Dinner

The struggle with food continues as I just started shoveling food mindless into my mouth 3/4 the way through a nice healthy meal.

Started out with:
2 big bowls of salad w/lite sodium soy sauce & Sriracha
1/2 hamburger on bun w/grilled onions @ Sriracha

then I had 6 or 7 little homemade french fries...

then 6 or 7 more...

then the last 15-20.

Then ate 2 more hamburgers on buns with lite mayo and Sriracha.

Dammit, such a good day, great workout, etc, until that point. Not a binge (wanted to eat another 3-4 hamburgers, and could have, then scour the house for other fatty, or sweet shiot, but stopped myself), but still not good.

Well, guess its time to really start working on being mindful when I eat which I haven't really even started to do. I eat my lunch and breakfast while mindlessly surfing the net or watching tv on my comp every day. Tonight is a reminder that I need to do more than be mindful BEFORE I eat, but WHILE I eat too.

1 can of shrimp w/1 tbsp lite mayo & Sriracha
1 serving lettuce
1 onion bagel
1 bowl (4 servings) rice krispis w/fat free milk.

Last night. Had kind of a shitty day, and unlike last time when I binged without any emotional triggering, but just hadn't eaten much and had been steadily getting less aware, this time I think I just felt like shit and gave into the urge for the momentary false comfort it offered.

Anyway, here we go:

2 organic black bean microwave burritos
Not sure, but guessing maybe 10 cups of white rice smothered in what ultimately was probably 1-2 cups of high fat salad dressing
1 bowl of corn flakes with maybe 1 1/2 cups of peanut butter
4 pieces of whole wheat bread dipped in 1/2 cup of high fat salad dressing.

Ok, so today I figured I'd cut myself some slack and eat what I wanted since I'd had a good week. While not a horrible concept in general, that of a mild food reward for losing weight, I clearly can't do what I did today, again. It was not as crazy as my old binging style, but the dinner was damn close. A pretty horrible day on the whole, next Friday needs to be pretty much the same as any other day, maybe one item in one meal that is a treat, something like that.

Last night I ate a huge taco stand beef tongue burrito with rice and beans and lettuce (no sour cream, guac, or cheese) while driving down to SLC to celebrate the new year.

Never had tongue before. NOT a fan. Though I ate it because I was hungry.
